HSES Field Day is tomorrow. The forecast is calling for a 35% chance of rain, but just through the hours of 7AM to 10AM. Our plan is to have our Field Day regardless of the weather. Please dress your child accordingly for the potential wet weather. If you have any questions, please contact the main office. Thanks!

There is a correction that needs to be made to the lunch menu that identified Thursday, 6/5, as HSES Field Day. Thus, the 6/5 lunch options are #1 Chicken Patty and #2 Sun Butter. The HSES Field Day is on Tuesday, June 10th and we will having bagged lunches that day. If you have any questions, please contact the Main Office.

Each year, teachers create balanced groups of students to achieve a diverse mix in each program and classroom, representing a full range of strengths and needs. All input is considered, including that from parents, specialist teachers, nurse/guidance, and the principal. If you feel you would like to give us some information about your child which may help us in the grouping process, you will have the opportunity of putting your thoughts in writing. The information will be shared with the appropriate teachers during our grouping meetings. The kind of input that would be most helpful might include: learning style, personal interests or needs, and past history of an older sibling with a teacher. PLEASE NOTE THAT INDIVIDUAL TEACHER REQUESTS CANNOT BE HONORED since the goal above all else remains to balance the classrooms. This is a difficult task and our teachers take great pride in participating in this process. Input should be submitted to the current classroom teacher or the principal by Monday, May 19th. If for any reason a request to change a placement is made after the last day of school, parents may write a letter to the principal and a meeting will be scheduled to review the letter with the parent, principal, and new receiving teacher to address questions. Together, we can work on a plan for a smooth transition of success for each child.
