We have more MV athletes to celebrate! Avery Sevigny was selected to be on the 2019 Maine Field Hockey Association All-State Team! This is a state wide team voted on by the coaches. Avery will be invited to play in Annual East-West All-Star Game in the summer of 2020. Well deserved recognition for an amazing athlete who accomplished so much during her 4 year career at MV. Congrats Avery!!

There is nothing better than we get to celebrate the accomplishments of our student athletes and we have a couple more to share!
Saydie Garbarini has been selected to Maine Soccer Coaches Regional All-Star team! She will play in the Senior Bowl on 11/17 at 12:00 at Thomas College
We would also like to announce that Dylan Desroches and Matthew Brown have both been selected as Campbell Conference All-Stars for their efforts on the football field this season! They will be celebrated at a Banquet on 11/24 at the Italian Hertiage Center in Portland
Congratulations to these three senior athletes! Hard work pays off!

Now that our Fall sports season is complete we wanted to give an update on Winter sports:
Unfortunately, Mountain Valley will not be fielding a Nordic Ski team this winter. Participation numbers have been decreasing over the last few seasons and with extremely low interest heading into the 2019-2020 season we have decided to not field a team for this winter. This was proposed and accepted by the school board last Monday.
If any MV students are interested in Nordic they will still have an opportunity as an Independent. If any athlete wants to pursue this option please come see Mr. Danylik as soon as possible.
This was not an easy decision and we hope to start the conversation of how to bring back a passion for Nordic Skiing that has existed in the Rumford community for generations.

Pictured below are the 2019-2020 Winter Sports schedules. These are always subject to change but this a good start!

Jasper Turner’s Celebration of Life is this Sunday from 2-4 in the auditorium.
