MVHS: We are really excited to finally see everyone tomorrow. Our community has experienced so much over the last two weeks and hopefully students being back at school will feel like a step in the right direction. If any students need support this week please have them come and find us. Supporting each other as we transition back to school is of the utmost importance. One reminder that tomorrow is an A-Day. We hope students get some rest and we will get back to it tomorrow! - Mr. Danylik & Mr. Milledge

A winner on the court is yet to be determined, but the biggest winner tonight is our community. A big shoutout to everyone who showed up to our first of two Toy Drive games. Not only is it great to see a good crowd showing up to support the Falcons but the fans tonight did not disappoint with their Toy Drive donations. So many River Valley kids are going to have a better holiday season because of the generosity shown tonight. I saw it all the time but I love this community. Thank you all, let’s do it again on Tuesday when the girls take on the Poland Knights! #FalconsFly

Four years ago, Mountain Valley football made the decision to move into the newly sanctioned 8-man football league. Participation numbers had dipped into the low 20s and it became very difficult to safely play at both the varsity and JV levels. It was not an easy decision to make in a community with such a rich football history, but it was a necessary one. This past season, thanks in large part to a big group of freshmen, our roster climbed back up to the mid 30s. It is with much excitement, that we can now announce that Mountain Valley football has put in a request to the MPA to move back into the 11-man ranks. 8-man football has been a great development in the state of Maine, it has saved many programs. Programs across the state have joined the 8-man divisions for many different reasons, but for Mountain Valley, it has always been about reviving our program in hopes of returning to what we know and love. This decision does not come lightly, we do not want to put ourselves in a position in which we bounce between the two different levels. In discussions at the HS, MS, and AYF levels, we are confident that our improved participation numbers are sustainable for the foreseeable future. There are still a lot of details to be sorted out, as other schools make similar decisions to move from one level to another but this is an exciting move for our team, school, and community. This is yet another reason to get out on Friday nights next fall and pack the Hosmer Field Complex to support the Falcons! #FalconsFly https://www.sunjournal.com/2020/01/10/mountain-valley-exploring-eight-man-football/?fbclid=IwAR1jg0gGkX2DXx1k6VbwZrTG-gaA89i1sSI-HtFWwjL8mKGKM9I3cBlq3eE_aem_Af5FXuD2M3iM0B-Zgi5tbwNp29uUixvs19xpOetx_V27SRxLTAvB3qJbcUZGf06jGE4
