This afternoon we received a report of a slight odor of propane outside of Meroby Elementary School. There was no smell of propane in the school. Out of an abundance of caution the building was evacuated and 911 was called. The tank was shut off to the building and the propane service company was called. Mexico Fire Department secured the scene. Using meters they checked for gas in the building and found none. The propane service company found a small leak in a safety overflow regulator on one of the outside tanks. The regulator will be replaced this evening and the building, after being rechecked by the propane service company, should be ready for school tomorrow. If the valve replacement becomes an issue that may affect school tomorrow at this building you will be notified.

We are looking forward to getting back to school here in RSU 10. Teachers will be here next week and everyone will be busy putting all the finishing touches together for a healthy and safe beginning of the school year.
I wanted to send a reminder found at this link: https://5il.co/jhuq regarding the six(6) requirements from the MDOE for coming to our school buildings. For more information please go to the doe.maine.gov website and review the Framework for Re-opening Schools.

Attention Parents!
In an effort to get class rosters, schedules, staffing and bus routes completed we need to ask for no additional changes to registration for in-person vs. remote learning after today. Your cooperation will help us be ready for the start of our school year!
Thank you, Deb Alden
