March 30 Update

As RSU 10 superintendent Deborah Alden mentioned in her Sunday message, today begins our second week of remote learning, and third week of meal availability for all students (breakfast & lunch!). The BJSHS office remains open Monday-Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and meals are available at the student entrance from 10:00-12:00. Contact us by phone at 336-2151, or email frines@rsu10.org with any questions. We miss the regular routine as so many others do, and we hope everybody is safe.

Remote Learning Update - Teachers continue to provide learning activities for students. These learning activities fall into two broad categories. The first category is the make-up of learning from when students were still attending school (March 13 and earlier). This relearning could be for either Incomplete grades, or Credit Recovery from a failed course. In this first category, students who demonstrate proficiency will be able to receive grades to make-up previous Incompletes, or recover credits from previous course failures. The second category includes activities for students to practice skills and review learning. Many activities will fall into this second category. It is also very important to recognize that perhaps the true importance of this category is to help students & staff develop the skills that are necessary for continued remote learning, in the event that our schools continue to operate in this manner. We won’t be returning to school until April 27 at the earliest, thus it is extremely important that all students and staff use this time to refine our remote learning activities in preparation for remote learning to continue beyond April 27.

Please contact the school with questions or if you are in need of a resource such as a computer charger or other materials that are still at school.
