RSU10 Technology

RSU10 has made significant investments into technology that allows us to support the growth & education of our students and staff. We currently use a state approved Student Information System (SIS) called PowerSchool. Our goal continues to be providing 1-to-1 device access to all teachers and students grades 6th through 12th, with access to shared devices throughout grades K through 5th.

Device Information:

  • Students in grades K-5 will have access to use a shared 11” Apple MacBook Air.
  • Teachers of grades K-5 will have an assigned 13” Apple MacBook Air.
  • Ed-Techs of grades K-5 will have an assigned 13” Apple MacBook Air.
  • Students in grades 6-8 will have an assigned 11” Apple MacBook Air.
  • Teachers of grades 6-8 will have an assigned 13” Apple MacBook Air.
  • Ed-Techs of grades 6-8 will have an assigned 13” Apple MacBook Air.
  • Students in grades 9-12 will have an assigned 11″ Lenovo N23 Chromebook.
  • Teachers of grades 9-12 will have an assigned 13” Acer R13 Chromebook.
  • Ed-Techs of grades 9-12 will have an assigned 13” Acer R13 Chromebook.

Network Information:

All District buildings are covered by high speed wireless networks. The buildings are all linked together through a microwave wide area network (WAN). The Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) stated goal is gigabit speed to the classroom.

Technology Personnel – Level 1

Level I – Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist

Deskside support is responsible for desktops, laptops, tablets, peripherals and other IT related devices in Regional School No. 10. They set up devices for new users and are typically responsible for any physical work relating to the devices, such as repairing software or hardware issues and moving devices to another location.

Technology Personnel – Level 2

Level II – Information Technology Manager (Systems, Network/Help Desk, Data)

A more in-depth technical support level, containing experiences and more knowledgeable personnel on a particular product or service. It is synonymous with level II support, administrative level support and various other headings denoting advanced technical troubleshooting and analysis methods. Technicians in this realm of knowledge are responsible for helping Level I personnel and for investigating elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeking known solutions related to those more complex issues.

Manages Regional School Unit No. 10’s student personal, enrollment and testing data. Responsible for data integrity and accuracy throughout multiple required programs. Provides system administration support for various software programs. Staff liaison for technology related software training.Oversees timely delivery of quality technical support service to staff and students. Responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, updating and administering district local and wide area network systems, telephone systems and other telecom and network related infrastructure. Put in place and maintain network security protocols across the RSU.
