As soon as we have at least five(5) people/students consenting for pool testing participation in any classroom or grouping we will be able to begin Pool Testing for that group and those participating would ONLY be required to quarantine IF they test positive themselves. This includes those ALREADY vaccinated. Please consult your School Nurse with additional questions. Staff and Students: As we return from Spring Break please follow the current mandates from Maine CDC: COVID-19: Travel Mandates for Those Entering Maine from Domestic Travel Quarantine It is mandated that all out-of-state travelers coming into Maine, as well as Maine residents returning to Maine, complete a 10-day quarantine upon arrival. Travelers should monitor for signs and symptoms for an additional 4 days. This means: You need to arrive with enough food for 10 days or arrange to have food delivered to you. You cannot go out to grocery stores. Stay at home. You cannot go out to public places. Avoid contact with others, especially those who are at high risk of severe COVID-19 illness. Negative Antigen or Molecular Test Result The State will allow adults who have a negative COVID-19 antigen or molecular (PCR, NAAT, or isothermal) test collected no more than 72 hours before arriving in Maine to forgo the 10-day quarantine upon arrival in Maine. An antibody test is not accepted to forgo quarantine for visitors and those returning to Maine. Maine is strongly urging visitors to “Know Before You Go,” meaning they should get tested and receive their test results in their home state before traveling to Maine, which will allow them to take appropriate action depending on the result. If you do not have the test result by the time you arrive, you must quarantine in your lodging until you receive the result. Individuals may be tested upon arrival in Maine as well, but they must quarantine while awaiting the results. Quarantine and Testing Exemptions Exempt states: Residents from the following states are exempt from the testing and 10-day quarantine requirement above because, when adjusted for population, the prevalence of active cases of COVID-19 in these states is similar to Maine. Maine residents can also travel to these states and return without testing or completing a 10-day quarantine. Exempt effective March 5, 2021: Connecticut Massachusetts New Hampshire Rhode Island Vermont Vaccination exemption: Individuals who have completed a COVID-19 vaccination series and are 14 days beyond the completion of the series are exempt from the testing and 10-day quarantine requirement above, regardless of their state of origin. Exemption for those who have had COVID-19: An individual who had a positive COVID-19 molecular or antigen test is exempt from the testing and 10-day quarantine requirement above for 90 days (3 months) after their first positive test, provided they remain asymptomatic. Certificate of Compliance: Travelers to Maine who are not residents of exempt states and are visiting Maine will be asked to sign a Certificate of Compliance indicating either that they have received a negative COVID-19 test result, that they have completed a COVID-19 vaccination series, that they will quarantine in Maine for 10 days, or that they have already completed their quarantine in Maine. This compliance form must be provided to check-in at all Maine lodging, campgrounds, seasonal rentals, overnight camps, and other commercial lodging, such as Airbnb. Visitors may be asked to furnish proof of the negative test result upon request. Regardless of exemptions, all visitors should continue to wear face coverings and practice physical distancing and hand hygiene to further reduce risk of COVID-19 spread. Find out how to interpret a COVID-19 test result for traveling to Maine (PDF). Visit the Keep Maine Healthy page for more information on traveling into Maine. Mandates for Those Entering Maine from International Travel Quarantine and Testing For people who are fully vaccinated (at least 14 days past their final COVID-19 dose) who arrive in Maine: Quarantine is not required unless you are experiencing symptoms. Testing is recommended 3-5 days after arrival in the US. If the COVID-19 test is positive, isolate. For all people who are not fully vaccinated and arrive in Maine within 7 days of entering the United States: Quarantine for 7 days from arrival in the US AND get a COVID-19 molecular or antigen test 3-5 days after arrival in the US. If the COVID-19 test is positive, isolate. Even if the COVID-19 test is negative, complete the 7-day quarantine after travel. If individuals arriving from international travel do not get a COVID-19 test after their arrival, they should quarantine for 10 days after their arrival in the US. Avoid being around anyone who is at increased risk of severe COVID-19 illness for 14 days following arrival in the US, regardless of COVID-19 test results. For anyone who arrives in Maine more than 7 days after arrival in the US, follow the domestic travel guidelines above. Find travel guidance for all passengers coming to the United States, including US citizens, from US CDC.

As I wrap up my fourth year as your Superintendent, I am reflecting on how thankful I am to be a part of RSU 10. I am proud of our District and how hard all of our staff are working to continue our quest to do better for our students. Everyday I see staff and students striking that balance between being healthy and safe and being present in-person and participating virtually. What a challenge this has been for all of us! As we continue our work to be better with remote learning we also are seeking ways to allow students to be in-person learning for more time and have more students move from fully remote to in-person. This is being considered by each school individually. PLEASE continue following our guidelines to stay healthy and safe! Help us keep Oxford County Green!! Happy Thanksgiving! Deb Alden

WFKA Alive and Well!! It was an incredibly busy school year and soon after remote learning began, we managed to deliver STEM materials and books to all 90 of our Afterschool students in order for them to continue participating in a Virtual Afterschool Program! We are now gearing up for a fun-filled Virtual Summer Camp from July 20th-August 13th. Students participating in our Virtual Summer Camp will have the opportunity to participate in a series of virtual programs including 3D Printing, Coding, STEM, Art, Keyboard/Piano Lessons, Ukulele Lessons, Yoga, Video Blogging, and Book Groups. Programs are free, however, donations are encouraged to help us sustain our program. All materials to participate in these programs will be supplied; keyboards and ukuleles can be borrowed for a refundable deposit of $25. We are extremely excited to be able to offer these programs to our RSU 10 Kindergarten through 4th grade students and hope that students will sign up to participate! If you are interested in signing your child/children up, please fill out the registration form. Our Kindergarten-1st Grade Registration form can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1XRorFwddbwPFKPKA2qNPWwRy_JYg7h9qcz5f_sUAsjA/edit and our 2nd-4th Grade form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScdSGZ4esup7R0Sy9X90SXjMk1hliUawWXlPZK8i8zpbrR2rA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR0iGEORAtlBTZPR7wrp7OLXGLAJ8mq_W8PXdoRSHNVJixZ0IxKm3skaSmI. RSU10 Update
Good Afternoon: RSU 10 has been continually monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our community, RSU 10 schools will be closed for students Monday, March 16t h through Friday, March 27t h . This closure is not the result of any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our immediate communities. This decision was made in consultation with many, and out of an abundance of caution, to follow the rapidly changing guidance regarding enhancing social distancing efforts. This decision has not been made lightly and we certainly empathize and understand the significant burden this will cause families in the coming days. On Monday, staff will report for their regularly scheduled day. Administrators will meet with staff in their buildings at 8:00 a.m. Plans for the rest of the day will be shared. Much more information will be forthcoming on this closure, but we want to communicate this news to you as soon as possible so you may begin planning for child care and other concerns that will be raised by this decision. We will be working with our administrative team and board members to provide more information as soon as possible. During this closure, we ask that you assist by minimizing group meetings of students and adults. Practicing social distancing and good personal hygiene are the two greatest steps we can take to protect our communities from the spread of COVID-19. Finally, we would like to commend each of our stakeholders who are contributing positive energy and dynamic solutions to our schools’ response to this fluid situation. We as a district shall remain composed, collected and compassionate as we navigate through any challenges we face now and in the future. Thank you, Deb Alden
