As I wrap up my fourth year as your Superintendent, I am reflecting on how thankful I am to be a part of RSU 10. I am proud of our District and how hard all of our staff are working to continue our quest to do better for our students. Everyday I see staff and students striking that balance between being healthy and safe and being present in-person and participating virtually. What a challenge this has been for all of us! As we continue our work to be better with remote learning we also are seeking ways to allow students to be in-person learning for more time and have more students move from fully remote to in-person. This is being considered by each school individually. PLEASE continue following our guidelines to stay healthy and safe! Help us keep Oxford County Green!! Happy Thanksgiving! Deb Alden
Wednesday, November 18th at 10am! FREE FOOD BOX at MVHS 2nd Entrance. More details: https://5il.co/n3ha
This afternoon we received a report of a slight odor of propane outside of Meroby Elementary School. There was no smell of propane in the school. Out of an abundance of caution the building was evacuated and 911 was called. The tank was shut off to the building and the propane service company was called. Mexico Fire Department secured the scene. Using meters they checked for gas in the building and found none. The propane service company found a small leak in a safety overflow regulator on one of the outside tanks. The regulator will be replaced this evening and the building, after being rechecked by the propane service company, should be ready for school tomorrow. If the valve replacement becomes an issue that may affect school tomorrow at this building you will be notified. Scott Holmes, Director Buildings, Grounds & Transportation

Good Afternoon: RSU 10 has been continually monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our community, RSU 10 schools will be closed for students Monday, March 16t h through Friday, March 27t h . This closure is not the result of any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our immediate communities. This decision was made in consultation with many, and out of an abundance of caution, to follow the rapidly changing guidance regarding enhancing social distancing efforts. This decision has not been made lightly and we certainly empathize and understand the significant burden this will cause families in the coming days. On Monday, staff will report for their regularly scheduled day. Administrators will meet with staff in their buildings at 8:00 a.m. Plans for the rest of the day will be shared. Much more information will be forthcoming on this closure, but we want to communicate this news to you as soon as possible so you may begin planning for child care and other concerns that will be raised by this decision. We will be working with our administrative team and board members to provide more information as soon as possible. During this closure, we ask that you assist by minimizing group meetings of students and adults. Practicing social distancing and good personal hygiene are the two greatest steps we can take to protect our communities from the spread of COVID-19. Finally, we would like to commend each of our stakeholders who are contributing positive energy and dynamic solutions to our schools’ response to this fluid situation. We as a district shall remain composed, collected and compassionate as we navigate through any challenges we face now and in the future. Thank you, Deb Alden
