My name is Ryan Wilkins and I am proud to be the principal of Hartford-Sumner Elementary School. I am in fourteenth year as principal here at Hartford-Sumner Elementary School after a six year stint as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Buckfield Junior-Senior High School. Prior to that, I worked in various capacities (educational technician, teacher, athletic director, assistant to the principal, and coach) in what was then the Livermore Falls school system.
I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in secondary education with a social studies concentration. I also obtained a masters degree in educational administration from the University of Southern Maine.
Although I do spend the majority of my time in and around school, there are things I enjoy to do outside of school. In my leisure time, I like to golf whenever I get the opportunity to do so, which is typically from the spring through the fall. During the winter months, I like to spend my leisure time coaching basketball. In fact, this winter I will begin my sixth season coaching the Buckfield Junior-Senior High School Lady Bucks. In addition, I am an avid sports fan of the Atlanta Braves, Clemson Tigers, New York Giants, and the Boston Celtics.
In regards to my personal life, I am married to my wife Jennifer, who is an educational technician in RSU #73 (Jay, Livermore, and Livermore Falls). We are the proud parents of Laura and Owen. Laura is a college graduate from the University of New England while Owen is a junior at Spruce Mountain High School.
