As I wrap up my fourth year as your Superintendent, I am reflecting on how thankful I am to be a part of RSU 10. I am proud of our District and how hard all of our staff are working to continue our quest to do better for our students. Everyday I see staff and students striking that balance between being healthy and safe and being present in-person and participating virtually. What a challenge this has been for all of us!
As we continue our work to be better with remote learning we also are seeking ways to allow students to be in-person learning for more time and have more students move from fully remote to in-person. This is being considered by each school individually.
PLEASE continue following our guidelines to stay healthy and safe! Help us keep Oxford County Green!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Deb Alden

Notification of Lead testing results.
RSU 10
10/6/20
As part of the HSES well system, and the Safe Water Drinking Act, we are required to monitor drinking water quality. During the monitoring period of June-September we exceeded the levels of lead in 1 classroom. The Maine Rural Water Association has given us guidance on how to correct this issue
We have significantly reduced water use at this school due to working remotely since March, as well as many students choosing to learn remotely this fall. This is believed to be the main cause of this issue.
This year we have not allowed students to drink from the water fountain systems due to the abundance of safety precautions taken due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. We will continue this practice until it is deemed safe to use the fountains again. Food Services is also taking maximum precautions.
RSU 10 is actively working to fix this issue and will notify you when the Maine Rural Water Association deems it safe to drink.

Nezinscot Food Delivery: https://5il.co/dteq

Good Afternoon:
RSU 10 has been continually monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our community, RSU 10 schools will be closed for students Monday, March 16t h through Friday, March 27t h . This closure is not the result of any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our immediate communities. This decision was made in consultation with many, and out of an abundance of caution, to follow the rapidly changing guidance regarding enhancing social distancing efforts. This decision has not been made lightly and we certainly empathize and understand the significant burden this will cause families in the coming days.
On Monday, staff will report for their regularly scheduled day. Administrators will meet with staff in their buildings at 8:00 a.m. Plans for the rest of the day will be shared.
Much more information will be forthcoming on this closure, but we want to communicate this news to you as soon as possible so you may begin planning for child care and other concerns that will be raised by this decision. We will be working with our administrative team and board members to provide more information as soon as possible.
During this closure, we ask that you assist by minimizing group meetings of students and adults. Practicing social distancing and good personal hygiene are the two greatest steps we can take to protect our communities from the spread of COVID-19.
Finally, we would like to commend each of our stakeholders who are contributing positive energy and dynamic solutions to our schools’ response to this fluid situation. We as a district shall remain composed, collected and compassionate as we navigate through any challenges we face now and in the future.
Thank you,
Deb Alden
