The Civil Rights Team invites students to be part of a group that focuses on changing the culture and climate in our school to one that will actively prevent bias-based behaviors. Students in this group are leaders in effecting change through projects and initiatives that feature student voice. Members work as a team and have discussions related to increasing awareness and protecting students from harassment based on race, color, national origin or ancestry, religion, physical or mental disability, gender, and sexual orientation.

The Civil Rights Team meets twice a month after school. The Civil Rights Team meets more frequently when we are planning events such as the Nationally recognized, “No Name Calling Week” or other initiatives of our hallmark Make a Difference. We plan projects and provide surveys that allow us to better serve the needs of our school community.
