Pre-K & Kindergarten Screenings

Due to the closure of schools during this difficult time, we are postponing our screenings for the fall of 2020.

If you call Hartford-Sumner Elementary at 388-2681 and leave a voicemail on the office line, we will still send you the necessary paperwork to register your child. Please leave your name, address, phone number, your child’s name and their date of birth (used to determine whether your child qualifies for Pre-K or Kindergarten). For Pre-Kindergarten, children need to be 4 years of age on or before October 15,2020. For Kindergarten, children need to be 5 years of age on or before October 15, 2020. Once our school reopens, we will confirm a screening date with you.

At this time, you can collect the documents that we will require from you at the time of the screening. This will include the child's original birth certificate from the town where they were born (not from the hospital), their immunization record, proof of residency (lease agreement, front page from Central Maine Power bill or Spectrum bill, mortgage statement), and any legal documents pertaining to custody. If you want to take pictures of these supporting documents and email them to Brenda Kimball (bkimball@rsu10.org) that is fine, but you will still need to bring those documents with you to the screening and the school will make a copy for the student file. Submitting pictures of the supporting documents allows Brenda to have the correct spelling of your child’s name and allows her to confirm residency in advance of your screening. If your child is currently in Pre-K all that is needed is any updated immunization records and any updated court orders if there have been changes.

You can have your child's doctor's office fax the immunization record to us at 388-2882.

We look forward to partnering with you soon!

Educationally,
